Tons of chewing gum “consumed annually in the United States,” according to the Census Bureau. That adds up to $1.9 billion per year.
American adults who now “support legalizing marijuana for recreational use,” according to The Harris Poll. That’s the first time it’s been half. Last year’s poll registered 49 percent.
“Adolescents who start smoking because of smoking images seen in the movies,” according to the anti-smoking campaign Truth Initiative. Also interesting: “42 percent of the video games studied contained tobacco images.”
“Teens using over-the-counter (OTC) cough medicine to get high,” according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse. Ten years ago, it was 6 percent.
