Here's what happens when pollsters have nothing better to do.

81 percent

“Americans who have witnessed a gross workplace habit,” with “the act of wiping a runny nose on one’s hands or sleeve” being the grossest. The survey of more than 2,000 adults by cleaning supply company Cintas also listed these gross workplace habits: “blowing nose into the sink,” “spitting in trash can or sink,” and “the fact that they are there at all.”

71 percent

American adults “who hold hands often” and “say they are completely satisfied with their relationships, compared to just 35 percent of those who hold hands less often,” according to diamond brand Forevermark. The study really drilled down on this topic: “Americans who hold hands often (4-7 days per week) believe their relationship will last nearly twice as long as those who hold hands less often (0-3 days per week).”

59 percent

Women between the ages of 18 and 44 who “would feel comfortable receiving a waxing service gift card from a significant other,” according to the European Wax Center, which polled more than 1,000 apparently hairy female Americans.

55 percent

Male hotel guests who “admit to taking the body lotion home, with 1 in 5 also taking the shower cap,” according to a poll by Hilton. Weirder still, “10 percent of Americans confess that they have given away hotel amenities as a present.”

6 percent

American travelers who wouldn’t mind being bumped from a flight for 24 hours if it meant, on a subsequent flight, having “a chance to sit next to Renee Zellweger.” The survey from cloud-testing firm SAOASTA  didn’t ask about any other celebrities. Zellwegger fell well behind “a free flight” at 63 percent.
