A "waiting room" means different things in different states.

The average wait time to see a doctor is your area could make all the difference in your health.

They say life moves slower in the Deep South, and so do its doctors. According to a study released Wednesday by healthcare website Vitals.com, you’ll spend between 23 and 24 minutes in the waiting room if you live in Louisiana, Alabama, and Mississippi.

But if you live in New England — Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire — the average doctor wait time is 15-16 minutes.
