This week: A look back at Thanksgiving, a look ahead to Christmas.

Americans who went holiday shopping over Thanksgiving Day weekend, according to the National Retail Federation. If that sounds like a lot, that’s because it is. With 319 million in the whole country, thanksgiving statistics show that more than 4 in 10 of us were shopping that weekend.

96 percent

“Thanksgiving dinners that will feature turkey,” according to branding company Meyocks. Not surprisingly, only 71 “will have green beans.” Because green beans suck.

81 percent

Americans who, when asked to think about all the crap they eat this time of year, “wish they made healthier choices during the holiday season,” according to Ready Pac Foods. “Yet seven out of 10 have no plans to make their holiday meals healthier this year.”

61 percent

What do you want for Christmas? This many Americans ” chose gift cards,” according to a very pleased Network Branded Prepaid Card Association.  That makes gift cards the most popular choice for the 10th year in a row.
